Four members of the band traveled on Sunday 6th september to Hilversum to participate in the recording of the tv program Really? True! The presentator of this show, Jack Spijkerman, and his side-kicks Tijl Beckand and Ruben van der Meer, asks the audience some questions. Tijl and Ruben give an answer and the public has to decide which anwer is correct. As the introduction of a guestion about the Scottish people our pipers came on thr stage with the tune "Scotland te Brave". The performance was, as usually, just right at te first attempt. The broadcast of the show is on Saturday the 18th september at 22.00 hour on RTL 4. Really! |

The first performance for the Combined Band of Dutch Pipes and Drums from Tilburg is over. During the annual veterans parade in Wageningen on May 5th was the official start for this addition to the existing bagpipe corps. This year the parade was organized by the 'National Memorial Committee Capitulations 1945 Wageningen’ and entirely devoted to 65 years of liberation. Defence has indicated that this is the last veterans parade in Wageningen in which defense will cooperate themselves. The whole band has left immediately after the performance and headed for Eindhoven Airport from where they departed to join the Norsk militær Tattoo. It is the second time the band takes part in this great Military Tattoo. After the great success stories in 2008 the take part again but now with its own orchestra. Below are some photos from the performance in Wageningen on May 5th, 2010.

On the 23 th of March, Tilburg was treated to a very nice Article in the Brabants Newspaper. The title "The little Scotsmen are going as big Scots to Oslo" it describes the growth of the Dutch Pipes and Drums over the last few Years. The Article also includes in detail the oncoming performances in Oslo and the presentation of our new Military Band wich has recently been formed. An Artical has been presented in an edition of the Magazin Music & Show. This magazine is especially for Brass Bands and Orchestra's. This story explains the unique story of the forming of the Military Band. And again a nice piece of publicity to be Proud of. |

The Royal Family of Norway will be having a beautifull present presented to them on the 8th of May. They will have the pleasure to enjoy a spectaculair show. If they were impressed in 2008 they will be amazed with this years presentation of a combined Band with more than 100 Musicians and 36 Dancers. For the first time in our bands History the Dutch Pipes and Drums will present a Show in Oslo which includes the Bands own Militairy Orchestra who has just newly been formed. Not only the combination with the Military band is unique but also the fact that Dutch Pipes and Drums two years ago were the first ever Pipeband in History to be invited to perform in the Oslo Military Tattoo. And this year 2010 we are the first Band to be invited two times on a row. One thing for sure!! The Spectators will not regret this occasion. |
