On Saturday, April 21, the Dutch Pipes and Drums organized for the 10th time the Silver Ghillie dance competition and the competition for the Silver Ghillie Award. Because it was the tenth time the day had a special program: dancing competition, lunch together, dance demonstration by talented dancers from Scotland and a dance workshop led by Debra Ann Brown. It was a very successful day to which many dancers, guests and visitors will look back with pleasure.
Isla Woodman adjudicated the dance competition for the third time. It was a fine day for Anna Bredin from Germany: she was overall winner in her class (novice younger than 15 years) and she also won the Silver Ghillie Award. The results of the dance competition can be found in the following link: results 2012.

Unprecedented joy in the stands of the Max Schmelinghalle in Berlin.Where even the last seat was filled, this hall was the decor for the 2011 Berlin Tattoo. With a humorous twist, the Dutch Pipes and Drums was presented to the public. After showing a hylarisch video the familiar words followed: "By the center, quick march" and the opening of the tattoo was a fact. Within one minute with what was clearly an orchestra was used for conquer the hearts of the Berliners.
Dutch Pipes and Drums from Tilburg, founded in 1953 is the oldest bagpipe band from the European mainland and has been inspired by traditional military pipe bands from Scotland. To realize our ambitions, we are currently looking for:
LEADING A DRUMMER M / F
Dutch Pipes and Drums consists of 20 pipers, a bass drummer,4 side drummers and 3 tenor drummers. In addition we also have a Highland dancing group. The band has about 30 public appearances in the Netherlands and abroad every year. We are regularly asked to put down a show in large military tattoos in the Netherlands, Norway, Denmark, Germany, etc., , sometimes together with our own recently formed combined band. Because of the link with pipe bands in the liberation of our region in 1944 we also act in remembrances and liberation activities regularly. In Tilburg, in our region and in other parts of the country, like Wageningen, as well. We often perform at weddings and parties too. The band wears the "MacDonald or ClanRanald" tartan and performs in both "Full Dress" and "Day Dress" uniform. To keep achieving all these activities it is necessary to expand our drum section and we are looking for an enthusiastic leading drummer. We consider it important to enjoy our hobby as much as possible. Together we try to achieve our personal and jointly ambitions. This means that beside the music, fun and a good atmosphere prevail. The overall musical direction is in the hands of our Pipe Major Willie McVean. You will co-operate with him and together you will be the face of our band. The drumcore also includes drumming students. Beside the drummers you will be responsible for them too. You can make your own teaching plan and use your skills to lead the drumcore in your way.
Dutch Pipes And Drums is a financially solid band. We purchase uniforms and instruments for our paying members
