After 65 years the libarators were invited in Tilburg again!
In old military vehicles the liberators drove through the city of Tilburg accompanied by 7 pipebands! The Dutch Pipes and Drums also participated in the streetparade and the tattoo. See this link for the movie of this event made available by Pipeband.TV.

By popular request, a new CD production is the result of the cooperation of "Dutch Pipes and Drums" with other music ensembles. "In Concert" is the fourth audio production that "Dutch Pipes and Drums" has delivered as a CD. After "Going Home" and "In Harmony" the successful cassette "Spirit of Scotland" was re-released on CD. "In Concert" includes unique musical cooperations with "Gelegenheids Harmonieorkest" Dutch Pipes and Drums, "Filharmonisch Orkest ’s-Hertogenbosch" and a cappella close harmony vocals choir "Be Sharp!". Solo singer on the track "So Many Lives" is Sophie van Doornmalen. Besides the five combined tracks you will also find traditional bagpipe music tracks on this CD that are recorded by Dutch Pipes and Drums only. This newest CD is introduced during Den Bosch Maritiem at the end of September 2009. That is the place where Dutch Pipes and Drums performed three tunes which are on the CD together with the Filharmonisch Orkest 's-Hertogenbosch. See the cover an playlist of the CD "In Concert" below. Unfortunately one tune name is wrong in the playlist. Track #9 does exist of the tunes Piobaireachd of Donald Dubh & Cock of the North. Ordering this CD or want to find out more about this new cd? Have a look at the special NEW CD "In Concert" page.

On April 25, 2009 the pipe band Dutch Pipes and Drums organized the Silver Ghillie Award dance competition for the seventh time. Under the supervision of the judge Mrs. Lynne Hamilton from Scotland, the dancers competed for the honour of gold, silver and bronze medals. There was also the so called “Open Entertainment Trophy” competition, a competition in which the dancers are free to create their own dance and music. The contest went very well with international participants and live bagpipe music. Check the full results here: uitslag silver ghillie award 2009 internet.pdf
